After nine months of growing a little bundle (or two, or three!) you want to remember this tender stage forever. Let me help you to capture this in a beautiful, honest and natural way.
Newborn photography is a very specialist type of photography. This is the stage where your baby is at their most vulnerable and fragile. I have undergone special training in order to keep babies comfortable and safe throughout our time together (and I do love a newborn cuddle!) These sessions aren’t rushed – the clock isn’t watched – baby is the boss! I understand that you are often still recovering yourself and can take everything at your pace and will only do what you are comfortable with.

Can my baby feed and have nappy changes in the studio?
100%! That is totally expected and we allow plenty of time throughout the session to take care of their needs and yours. We have a private change room for clients which also has baby changing facilities, so everyone is well looked after!
How much time will the photoshoot take?
The newborn sessions usually take around 2 hours (we allow an extra hour if there are additional family members). You will not feel rushed in any way and you will be well looked after – feel free to bring plenty of snacks and coffee.
My child (or significant other!) doesn’t like photographs
Don’t worry. We’re well used to this situation and it is incredible how quickly we can help them settle into the studio environment, relax and capture them in their natural persona.
My child can’t force a smile in photographs but I really want to do a photoshoot
We get to know the children, let our hair down and have fun. The smiles are all natural, not contrived in any way and we keep it light hearted. Your children aren’t here to perform.
Do I need to bring any props or dress in a certain way?
We recommend neutrals, pastel colours and denim to get the most out of your photos and we would advise avoiding any clothing with large logos or patterns. As for props, we do have a well equipped Aladdin’s cave filled with soft swaddles, pretty hairpieces, unique chairs and other tasteful props to make your photos that little bit extra special. We can tie it into your personality, the vibe of your family or the style of your home. This is your day and your family shoot!
Until what age can my baby do a newborn photoshoot?
Newborn photos are best within the the first few weeks or when they are still in their sleepy, curly stage.
What if my baby doesn’t sleep?
Nobody can predict a baby and if they do decide to be extra alert this won’t be the first time and we go with their flow. She will take inspiration from your little one.
When will I receive my photographs?
We invite you back to the studio approximately ten days after the shoot. We professionally edit all your photos in the interim and our Studio Manager Susan will spend time with your family going through the shots and helping you to decide which ones you would like to purchase.
